Bath and Body Works is coming to North York.
Fairview Mall and Yorkdale Shopping Centre will be home to the American-based store when it expands north of the border this fall.
Other Canadian malls to welcome the bath and fragrance store come autumn are Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, Stone Road Mall in Guelph, West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton and White Oaks Mall in London.
Parent company Limited Brands Inc. announced the expansion July 10.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bath and Body Works to Yorkdale,” said Anthony Casalanguida, general manager of Yorkdale. “Bath and Body Works is a well known U.S brand for Canadians. Since Yorkdale consistently offers an unparalleled shopping experience with the best brands and the ideal consumer demographic, we’re the perfect fit for one of their new Canadian locations.”
Bath and Body Works has 1,600 locations across the United States. The Canadian expansion will create 250 full-time and part-time jobs.
“Fairview Mall is delighted to welcome Bath and Body Works as part of our exciting new retail lineup," said Melody Fallis, senior marketing director of Fairview Mall. "We feel our customers will appreciate this new retail concept in the newly redeveloped Fairview Mall."
Leslie H. Wexner, chairman and chief executive officer of Limited Brands, said the company is looking forward to expanding to Canadian soil.
"We're excited to extend our world-renowned brand of personal care and home fragrance lines to Canada, where customers have already expressed a tremendous interest in our products," Wexner said in a press release. "Our acquisition of La Senza last year allows Canada to be our stepping stone into international expansion."
Limited Brands Inc. also includes Victoria's Secret, C.O. Bigelow, White Barn Candle Co. and Henri Bendel.
