We all win with subway car deal
We all win with subway car deal

Regarding the subway car decision.

The TTC's purchase of 234 new subway cars is a good investment that is long overdue. Many other transit providers across North America negotiate major contracts with key suppliers in the same way, and the process has been thoroughly reviewed by independent transportation experts.

This contract will provide thousands of Ontario jobs along with millions in tax revenues to provincial and federal coffers. Isn't that better then having a German-based multinational source this work in China and shipping more than half a billion tax dollars overseas?

Politicians should not turn their backs on the next generation. Ensuring that these subway cars are made in Canada is an important stand that we can all take to make sure there are decent jobs available for young people both in northern Ontario and in our own cities.

When the city purchases quality Canadian-made products, we all win.
