A 23-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were hurt during an armed robbery Tuesday night in an apartment building elevator.

Police said three men, one armed with a handgun, assaulted the woman in an attempt to take her purse at around 9:25 p.m. During a struggle, both victims were punched, kicked and struck with the handgun.

The robbers fled the building, near Victoria Park and Lawrence avenues, with the woman's purse.

"Both victims sustained injuries and will seek their own medical attention," police said.

One suspect is black, five-feet 10-inches tall. Another is black, six-feet tall with a thin build. The third is black, five-feet 10-inches tall with a medium build.
